About Kelsey

Kelsey Davis is a Special Counsel in our litigation team. Admitted in both New South Wales and New York, Kelsey brings a rare combination of domestic and international litigation experience, having practised at leading firms in both Sydney and New York – including Mallesons and Herbert Smith Freehills in Sydney, and Kirkland & Ellis in New York.  Kelsey is known for bringing to her work pragmatism, commercial acumen, and meticulous attention to detail.

With over a decade of practice across two jurisdictions, Kelsey has acted for multinational corporations, financial institutions, start-ups, and high-profile individuals at every stage of a dispute - from pre-dispute strategy and regulatory investigation through to trial, appeal, and settlement. Her experience spans federal and state courts in Australia and the United States, and encompasses commercial litigation, fraud investigations, class actions, regulatory enforcement, employment disputes, and international arbitration.

Kelsey brings additional insight to litigation and regulatory matters, having worked within ASIC’s enforcement team, and as an Associate to both Justice Foster and Justice Lee at the Federal Court of Australia.

Kelsey holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University, and a Master of Laws from Columbia Law School in New York City, where she was a James Kent Scholar (the school’s highest academic honour) and was awarded the Whitney North Seymour Medal for the most promising trial advocate.  In 2025, Kelsey was recognised as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for New York City, a peer designation awarded to only a select number of accomplished attorneys across the state.

"Litigation is rarely just about the law. My job is to understand what my client actually needs to achieve, and to build a strategy that gets them there as efficiently as possible."
